According to the BBC news website, Hilary Benn has announced that there will be relief for community and church buildings, which have been hit by massive rises in charging for water drainage. A lot of concern had been expressed by a whole range of agencies about the effect of the increased charges on community groups, uniformed organisations, sports clubs, churches and more. I love the signatories to the statement quoted in the BBC article:
In a joint statement, the Scout Association, the Football Association, Lawn Tennis Association, the England and Wales Cricket Board, the Rugby Football Union and the Church of England, said they would be "seeking assurances" from all of the main political parties "to make sure these measures become law".
Good result
