The whole bay area is flat. You can walk across if you know the paths, but the channels and quicksands are treacherous, and the tide can overtake you don't know the tides. Hence the terrible tragedy of the Chinese cockle-pickers here a few years ago.

Is Morecambe the place where it is easy to get caught by the tides, because the bay is so shallow? It looks it in the picture.

However, with a guide it's perfectly possible.
