Launching the Ark (or not)

Today should have been the day the Operation Noah Ark was launched in Morecambe Bay, as part of an awareness raising and campaigning event ahead of the Copenhagen summit on Climate Change. The weather had other ideas, and 70mph gusts prevented any launch being possible.

Undeterred we met instead at Christ Church URC, on Broadway, Morecambe, whose Green Group has coordinated the event.

We heard an impassioned plea from Mark Dowd, the documentary maker who heads up campaigning for Operation Noah, and then went outside for a photo op.


Full marks to local MP Geraldine Smith for coming, and walking all the way from her flat in Heysham!
