Looked up the debate paper online, as I thought I probably ought to. GS is so complicated in its operation that I glaze over after reading the paperwork for any length of time. The debate of the ordination of women as Bishops debate is a classic example of its complexity.
Read the procedure here, and then see if you still have any idea what is going to happen. I think would need several flip-chart sheets and six different coloured pens. I suspect the grouping that wins through will have the lawyers on the team.
My vote? Proceed with as simple a system as possible. No idea what I would need to do if I were at Synod, though!
