I suffered the unfortunate fate of watching the England match lowlights last night. What was fascinating was how the language changed. During the match there were lines like "After a shaky first 15 minutes, England are growing into the system". Paul Robinson was described as England's "saviour" during the first half. Add to that a couple of unlucky off-side calls, and 0-0 at half time seemed disappointing, but OK.
By the end of the second half, more lacklustre playing and a sticking up bit of turf had changed everything and we had deservedly lost 2-0. Robinson had a red face, but the whole team needed to look embarrassed.
By this morning the papers have aPaul-ling and Robbish. It's a fickle world.
At least Northern Ireland and Wales have something to celebrate.
