Eurovision

Lots of talk about the 'song' contest circulating around. I have become a persistent omitter of the contest from my evening's viewing. Instead watched a fascinating dramatisation of Daphne Du Maurier's life, covering the period of her relationship with Gertrude Lawrence.

Seems to have become more of a European game of chess than a chance to identify a catchy little ditty for the summer. Still, it's better than having a war

I admit it is utter rubbish, and seems to have become more about voting for the most ridiculous song rather than the best one, but that only makes it more fun! I only had it on in the background this year, but I do rather enjoy having subtitles on to see the translations of some of the bizarre lyrics!
