Having spent most of last week in Canterbury, and therefore travelling via London, I felt a real sense of relief getting back to Lancaster. Something about being in the north, you see. At Uni I was accused of being a northern chemist. My reply was that I was from the East Midlands and proud of it (160 miles to Newcastle and 160 to Southampton from Nottingham sounds like the middle)
But if it came to the crunch, I have to admit I feel more at home in the north than the south. There I've said it now.
Hey, You might even qualify for a Scottish passport!
ReplyDeleteWoop woop! Good call, Mike, good call!
ReplyDeleteI'm still a Midlander; it's just that we have more in common with the north.
ReplyDeleteAs for north of the border, I'll probably have right to abide in the People's Republic of Scotland after liberation, as the missus is from Edinburgh!
Liberation?! Hahahahahahahahaha! Oh how we larfed.
