Excellent news about Tate & Lyle changing their retail range of sugars over to Fairtrade by 2009. Fairtrade may not be perfect, but it is making a big difference to many people's lives by guaranteeing a fair price to producers.When a big corporation like this makes the change, that gets us a little nearer the goal of every producer receiving a better price for their labour. They are also finding ways of using waste to fuel processing in Belize to minimize the carbon impact.
