Context

A lot of fuss in the media at the moment about David Miliband's alleged aside

"I couldn't have gone any further. It would have been a Heseltine moment."

Of course, it could mean:
  1. He didn't want it to be perceived as a Heseltine moment, because he didn't want to do 'a Heseltine' to the beleaguered Mr Brown.
  2. Or, he didn't want to go to far yet, as in fact he longs to do 'a Heseltine' but now is not the time.
It all depends on context. Just goes to show you need to know who's listening, and watch your tone of voice!
