It's a fair point. However, you can always use the PC emulator - Virtual PC. A friend of mine told me you can even get a version of Linux which runs on a Mac and has a Mac OSX emulator, which must be the most deliberately difficult way of working. Maybe you can even run Virtual PC inside the Mac OS emulator inside Linux... Probably still quicker than my old PC.
